Growing up, when people found out that the most literal English translation of Aletheia meant truth, they almost always asked me if that meant I never lied. We would chuckle together about the pressure of living up to such a name but over the years, the question has been sown into me.

Am I a truth-teller? Am I one who lives from Truth?

Aletheia is variously translated as "unconcealedness", "disclosure", "revealing", or "unclosedness". The literal meaning of the word á¼€–λήθεια is "the state of not being hidden; the state of being evident." It also means factuality or reality.

For me, the most real thing is God. Father, Son, Spirit. It’s what I’m most certain of, what I long to base my life upon.

Aletheia Schmidt Mellott, MA is passionate about exploring ways to help others grow in their relationship with God.

She does this best with paint.

With over a decade of facilitating individual and group times of painting prayers, Aletheia invites young and old into creatively customized times of connection with creator God.

Aletheia specializes in work with yupo paper and acrylic inks and currently resides outside of harrisburg, PA with her husband and four kids.
